UK-India Trade Talks Begin

On Thursday January 13th 2022 the United Kingdom and India commence talks in New Delhi with the end goal of reaching an ”ambitious” Free Trade  Agreement. The UK is keen to gain access to India’s £2 trillion economy and another step towards CPTPP membership.

Over the four quarters ending in Q2 2021:
•    Total trade in goods and services was £19.8 billion
•    India was the UK’s 15th largest trading partner
•    Exports to India from the UK totalled £7.3 billion
