Hurricane Relief Drive in Houston on October 6th

The Astros Foundation held Hurricane Relief Drive at Minute Maid Park on October 6th

The supply drive will be held outside Union Station from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

HOUSTON, Texas – The Astros Foundation, Crane Freight, and the Cajun Navy are working together to bring much-needed supplies to southwest Florida following last week’s category four Hurricane Ian with a supply drive at
Minute Maid Park. 

On Thursday, October 6th, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside Union Station at Minute Maid Park, the Astros Foundation collected cases of water, nonperishable food items, toiletries, and diapers. Every person that drops off supplies will receive an Astros rally towel or promo item to celebrate a tremendous regular season and help to cheer the Astros on in the 2022 postseason.

Crane Freight will then take the supplies to southwest Florida, where the Cajun Navy will distribute the items at their newest distribution site in Ft. Myers Beach.

WHAT: Hurricane supply drive where Houstonians can drive by Minute Maid Park Union Station to drop off the following supplies needed in southwest Florida. Items Needed:

  • Cases of water
  • Nonperishable foods/canned goods
  • Toiletries
  • Diapers
  • Non-rinse body wash

WHEN: Thursday, Oct. 6, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The Astros will continue taking donations to help support hurricane relief efforts in Florida, Cuba, and Puerto Rico through Astros.com/relief.

Proceeds from the Share2Care 50/50 raffle during the final regulars season series against the Philadelphia Phillies, Oct. 3-5, will also go towards hurricane relief efforts in Florida, Puerto Rico, and Cuba.

The mission of Cajun Navy Relief is to save lives. We are a group of volunteers who work tirelessly without pay (using our equipment) to provide immediate rescue and relief during a natural disaster. Rescue and relief is our way of sharing our South Louisiana cultural tradition (of neighbors helping neighbors) with people in need across the United States. By integrating civilian volunteers into the Incident Command Structure, we can act as a force multiplier for agencies responding to disasters.
