Note the recent fee increases from Customs and Border Protection

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) User Fees Increases

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has announced an increase in the user fees assessed by CBP.  

Effective October 1, 2020, the below fee structure will be required:

  • Merchandise processing (MPF): minimum $27.23/ 0.3464% ad valorem; maximum $528.33 (up from $26.79/$519.76)
  • Informal entry or release not prepared by CBP personnel: $2.18 automated/$6.54 manual (up from $2.14/$6.43)
  • Informal entry or release prepared by CBP personnel: $9.80 (up from $9.64)
  • Commercial vessel arrival: $476.04 per arrival/$6,486.99 annual cap (up from $468.32/$6,381.77)
  • Barge and other bulk carrier arrival: $119.83 per arrival/$1,634.00 annual cap (up from $117.88/$1,607.50)
  • Commercial truck arrival: $5.95 per arrival/$108.93 annual cap (up from $5.85/$107.17)
  • Rail car arrival: $8.99 per arrival/$108.93 annual cap (up from $8.84/$107.17)
  • Dutiable mail: $5.99 (up from $5.89)
  • Commercial vessel or aircraft passenger arrival: $5.99 (up from $5.89)
  • Customs broker permit: $150.33 (up from $147.89)
  • Express consignment carrier/centralized hub facility, per individual waybill/bill of lading: $0.38 minimum (unchanged)/$1.09 maximum (up from $1.07)
  • Surcharge for manual entry or release: $3.27 (up from $3.21)
