EPA Issues Significant New Use Rules Under TSCA for 32 Chemical Substances

On December 2, 2022, in a Federal Register Notice (FRN), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued significant new use rules (SNURs) under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) for 32 chemical substances that were subject to premanufacture notices (PMNs).  This requires notifying the EPA at least 90 days before beginning any manufacturing or processing for the SNUR.

The affected chemicals include:

  • Undecanol, branched
  • Alkenylamide (generic)
  • Octanal, 7(or 8)-formyl-

The rule is effective January 31, 2023.
